Calendar

After reading the art director and client comments, I decided to create a simple, appealing calendar for the Humane Society. I wanted to create a calendar for the month of October, November, and December. For each month it will have it's own theme that correlates with the significant holiday. I chose to find different animals for each month because when people think of the Humane Society, they think of just adopting dogs and/or cats. They seem to forget about all the other animals that need a home as well. For October, I think of Halloween, so I found a picture of a pumpkin with pigs on it. I think of fall season for November, therefore I found a picture of leaves with a hedgehog. Lastly when I think of December, the word Christmas pops in my head, so I found a picture of two puppies with one wearing a Santa hat. I chose different colors that would relate to each month as well. I applied opacity to make sure not to distract the actual calendar, and could be written on easily. I included four care and animal related coupons. The coupons each have dotted borders around them as a guide for people to cut them out. I aligned all the coupons together on the bottom so that they could be cut out easily without ruining the calendar itself. I used mostly a black font color for the numbers and lettering so that it showed up against the colored backgrounds. The borders around the pictures and calendar itself are there to appeal the eye when they look at the calendar.
